The Teen Decision program is always looking for someone wanting very part-time work speaking to students. We are invited into public and private school health classes (usually during their human sexuality unit) to teach healthy relationships, with abstinence as a key strategy. We speak to thousands of middle and high school students every year. We seek to prevent unwanted pregnancy, STDs and unhealthy/abusive dating relationships.
We know the schedule months in advance, and you can choose how much you want to speak. We reimburse driving expenses from your home to and from the schools. You will be trained by an experienced educator in the classroom. Our work is during the school year, so you have holidays and summers off! Effective communication skills are required, plus a fair amount of energy and an ability to connect with teens. You must have a valid driver’s license, and live close to DuPage County, which is central to the three-county area we reach. There is room for advancement to being a paid speaker. We also anticipate needing administrative support over the next couple of years. If interested, please contact Tori at tori@teendecision.org.
